I’ve been on a bit of a double sided knitting kick lately and I’m sharing two free patterns for making pot scrubbers.

I got another pattern published today. That means you all get cheated out of a real blog post. You have to make do with a re-hash of stuff I wrote up for the pattern, pictures you can find over on ravelry, and something else… Oh yeah. A download code good for a free copy for the next 24 hours.

My polwarth spinning project is progressing. I have a few finished skeins to show off and, while I’m not done with the spinning, I’m far enough along that I’m thinking about patterns. Any pattern I use for a handspun yarn has to be flexible, workable in any weight of yarn, and easy to modify to suit the amount of yarn I actually have. Here are some patterns that have what I’m looking for.
Don’t you just love a good fake out? I do. And I love to make things that appear far more complex than the really are.
Have some Trickery. Its free on Ravelry with code: illusion for the next 24 hours (until May 13 6pm CST).
The promotion is over and the code is expired. But check back because I give freebie codes here on my blog every time I publish a new pattern! Continue reading Some Trickery and a Code for a Free Download
I have a naked teapot. I meant to get around to making her a sweater this winter but it didn’t happen. She is still naked.
As I was knitting up the yarn-cake cozies (that pattern went over BIG! My thanks to whomever shared it on Facebook) the teapot was nagging at me. She needs a cozy too.
You know that green lace stole I’ve been making since forever? Well it became a pattern today.
Its free for the first 24 hours (ends April 7th at noon CST) so head over to ravelry and grab it quick! Then come back for the ramble blather informative details on how I made it.

I’m putting the polls on a timeout. I always seem to have more stuff to write about than I have days in the week. Sometimes I feel like posting twice a day and I have to hold myself back, lol. So I’m re-appropriating Thursday and making it…
One of my (many) WIP’s got finished. Its version # 3 of Billow, a knit cowl. I got the design loaded up and published to ravelry today. Its normally $1.99 but for my Roving Crafters, its free! At least, its free for the next three days.
So you are all in a vintage frame of mind this morning? Me too! It’s been just awesome to see the response to our Revive A Vintage Contest. To be honest I was a little worried that it would flop and no one would enter.* But now that I don’t have to stress over that, let’s start a list of places that you can find some vintage to inspire your project.
Here is a free pattern for fingerless mitts in worsted weight yarn. They are basic ribbed mitts with some twisted stitches thrown in to break up the boredom of knitting them. Also, twisted stitches add a little something, don’t you think?
